I am a multi award-winning wildlife film producer, director and series producer. My career spans thirty years and includes the major BBC landmark series  Life, Galapagos, Wild Africa, Yellowstone, Wild Mexico, British Isles: A Natural History, Wild Europe and Wild West and a range of highly acclaimed films for the Natural World strand including Islands in the African Sky, Wings over the Serengeti, People of the Sea, Hokkaido and Dune.  

I also directed the highly ambitious 80’ 3D movie Enchanted Kingdom for BBC Earth Films, Reliance Entertainment and IM Global and the 40’ giant screen version Wild Africa 3D.

My films have twice been awarded the Best of Festival ( 'Grand Teton' award) and three time Best Limited Series at the Jackson Hole International Wildlife Film Festival. I’ve won a highly prestigious Peabody award for film making excellence from the University of Georgia, best motion picture documentary at the International 3D and Advanced Imaging Society, (the equivalent of a 3D Oscar), two Magnolia awards at the Shanghai documentary festival for Best Nature documentary, three Best of Festival awards at IWFF Missoula and four Wildscreen pandas ('the Green Oscars') including Best Series and Best Environment/Conservation film.

More recently I series produced the BBC/PBS 3-part landmark series Wild Mexico and am currently producer/director on China's Hidden Kingdoms, a 5-part series for Nat Geo Wild with Brian Leith Productions.

Looking ahead I will be executive producing two new series with Brian Leith Productions and Blakeway Productions, Bristol and am developing a range of exciting new projects through my company Impala Pictures. I am also consulting on an ambitious 90’ documentary feature with ZED in Paris.

I graduated from the University of Leeds with a first class honours degree in Zoology and was a scholar at King’s College, Taunton. I'm a fellow of the Royal Geographic Society, an Ambassador for Just a Drop, a BAFTA member and Vice President of Hospiscare. I love public speaking, and have given numerous talks at schools, conferences and for charities about the nature of my work.
