I am a multi award-winning wildlife film producer, director and series producer. My career spans twenty nine years and includes the major BBC landmark series  Life, Galapagos, Wild Africa, British Isles: A Natural History, Wild Europe, Wild West and Mexico, and a range of highly acclaimed films for the BBC Natural World strand including Islands in the African Sky, Wings over the Serengeti, People of the Sea, Hokkaido: Garden of the Gods and Dune.

I also directed the Enchanted Kingdom movie for BBC Earth Films, an 85’ film that takes you on an epic adventure to Africa to experience nature at its most intense and magical. Produced over four years and filmed in more than a dozen countries, it is the most ambitious 3D wildlife documentary ever made. The giant screen version, Wild Africa 3D, is currently on cinema release.

My films have twice won the Best of Festival ( 'Grand Teton' award) at the Jackson Hole International Wildlife Film Festival, against more than 600 other entries, and three times Best Limited Series. I have also been awarded the highly prestigious Peabody award for film making excellence from the University of Georgia, the best motion picture documentary at the International 3D and Advanced Imaging Society, the equivalent of a 3D Oscar, and four Wildscreen pandas ('the Green Oscars') including Best Series and Best Environment/Conservation award.

Most recently I series produced the BBC/PBS 3-part landmark series Wild Mexico, and am currently producing / directing China's Hidden Kingdoms, a 5-part series for National Geographic Wild with Brian Leith Productions. I am also developing a range of new projects through my company Impala Pictures.

I graduated from the University of Leeds with a first class honours degree in Zoology and was a scholar at King’s College, Taunton. I'm also a fellow of the Royal Geographic Society, an Ambassador for Just a Drop, a BAFTA member and Vice President of Hospiscare. I love public speaking, and have given numerous talks at schools, conferences and for charities about the nature of my work.
