I am a highly experienced executive producer and producer/director of wildlife and environmental films. I am also the creative director of Impala Pictures, a Bristol-based company that specialises in co-productions, bringing together the very best talent in the industry to make films of distinction.

I am currently executive producer on a global environmental series The Future of Nature with Brian Leith Productions for PBS, BBC Studios and Arte, and over the last couple of years I also wrote the scripts for two feature length documetaries, was executive producer on the 5-part series China’s Wild Empire for CCTV, National Geographic, ARTE and France TV, produced Canada: Surviving the Wild North for PBS and Terra Mater Factual Studios, a co-production between my company Impala Pictures and Brian Leith Productions and River Road Films, and oversaw 7 short films for the primetime BBC One Show.

My career spans more than thirty years and also includes the landmark series The Age of Nature, Kalahari: Land of Secret Alliances, The Hidden Kingdoms of China, Wild Tales from the Farm, Thailand: Earth’s Tropical Paradise, Mexico: Earth’s Festival of Life, Wild West, Life, Yellowstone, Galapagos, British Isles: A Natural History, Wild Europe and Wild Africa and a range of highly acclaimed specials including Islands in the African Sky, Wings over the Serengeti, The Lions Share, Africa’s Paradise of Thorns, People of the Sea, Grizzly: Face to Face, Hokkaido: Garden of the Gods, Thunderball, Ospreys: The Fish Hawks and Dune.  I also directed the BBC 3D theatrical movie Enchanted Kingdom and giant screen film Wild Africa 3D, and executive produced nine short films for the UN Climate Ambition Summit for world leaders.

My films have won multiple awards at the Wildscreen and Jackson Wild festivals, including twice winning best of Festival at Jackson Wild and three times Best limited Series, as well as a host of other Emmy, BAFTA, IWFF and RTS prizes, and a Peabody award for film making excellence from the University of Georgia. Most recently a film I exec’d, Golden Monkeys: Braving the Impossible, won Best Nature Documentary at the New York Wild film festival 2023. I have also been a final judge at the Jackson Wild, Shanghai International TV Festival and the China Wildlife Video Competition of the Year.

I graduated from Leeds University with a first class honours in Zoology and am a fellow of the Royal Geographic Society, an Ambassador for Just a Drop, a BAFTA member and Vice President of Hospiscare. I also enjoy public speaking and have given numerous talks about the nature of my work.
